Festool North America hosted its Spring Build-Off where two teams of woodworkers and makers squared off for two days in May to create a custom piece of furniture. The event took place at the company’s North America headquarters in Lebanon, Indiana.
Team A created a beautiful raw edge bench in a unique half moon shape and Team B made a stunning sofa table that incorporated the interesting qualities of the piece of wood.
After the event, Festool auctioned off both pieces of furniture with the proceeds going to Deeply Ingrained, a local Indiana organization dedicated to providing youth and underserved individuals woodworking opportunities.
Angela McMahan, director of marketing at Festool North America, says the goal of the Build-Off events and others is to build strong relationships with consumers by fostering a community of creators both in-person and online.
“As part of this initiative, we host Build Off events to bring everyone together,” McMahan says. “The two days are filled with building and friendly competition with the goal of creating something beautiful while giving back to the community. We believe it’s important to not only give back, but to give back to our local community here in Lebanon.”
