The Paint Shop’s Community Fund Drives Engagement

With 37 locations across Nova Scotia, Newfoundland and New Brunswick, The Paint Shop receives a large number of donation and sponsorship requests. And while the company would love to honor each one, it is diligent in which causes it chooses, says Kelli-Ann Smith, director of merchandising. The Paint Shop budgets a generous amount to support worthy causes, but carefully considers each one to ensure they align with the company’s philanthropic strategy.

The company has chosen to focus its philanthropy efforts in three areas: Community sports arenas to promote the physical and emotional development of children through sports, community beautification that enhances the aesthetics and functionality of community spaces and the arts to encourage self-expression and community enrichment.

The Paint Shop supports these areas through product donations, sponsorships and financial support. When applying for a donation or sponsorship request, the applicant is asked to share how their request lines up with one of the three community focuses. Donation and sponsorship requests are reviewed twice a month, and only donation requests made via the company’s donation page are considered.
