PPG was recently added to the America’s Greenest Companies 2025 list by Newsweek magazine. PPG joins 500 public and private U.S. companies also recognized who are reducing their environmental impact through water management, waste reduction and eliminating greenhouse gas emissions.
“At PPG, we pride ourselves on integrating sustainability into our business strategy,” says Peter Votruba-Drzal, PPG vice president of global sustainability. “With our customers, we use it as a driver to accelerate growth with sustainably advantaged products and productivity innovations. In our own operations, we use it as a catalyst to improve productivity through energy efficiency, waste minimization, and water reduction.”
In 2023, PPG reported progress towards its sustainability targets for 2030. Key statistics include a 13% reduction in water intensity at priority sites, a 10% reduction in scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions and 97% of suppliers assessed to sustainability and social responsibility criteria.
Companies considered for the list were required to meet the European Union’s standards for sustainability. Newsweek, along with Plant-A Insights group and GIST Impact, selected companies for the list.
