Today, PPG announced its unique automated paint mixing system, the PPG MOONWALK®, is now sold in stores in all 50 U.S. states. Body shops in Lincoln, Nebraska, and Casper, Wyoming, are the last remaining states to add MoonWalk to their shops this month. First introduced in 2019, the PPG MoonWalk system provides increased accuracy in paint mixing and color matching, reducing waste in the process.
“Reaching this milestone reflects PPG MoonWalk system’s impact on the industry,” says Tom Maziarz, PPG vice president, Americas, Automotive Refinish. “Digital innovation like this supports the next generation of painters and sets a new standard in the industry.”
PPG has equipped 2,300 body shops worldwide with MoonWalk, increasing productivity by more than 10%. The automated tool ensures a cleaner, more efficient paint mixing process, leading to more consistency and less human error. Morrow Collision Center in Lincoln, Nebraska, plans to highlight the achievement with a special event at the shop later this year.
