PDRA is proud to announce the 2014 PDRA Scholarship Award Competition, which is awarded to one student each calendar year. The $5000 scholarship, which is generously sponsored by the National Hardware Show®, is open only to PDRA retail members in good standing. Each member is allowed to nominate two candidates. Members may nominate employees, friends, or relatives to receive the award. Eligible candidates must be at least in the senior year of high school and be less than 26 years of age at the time of nomination.
Applications have recently been sent out for the 2014 PDRA Scholarship Competition, so check your mail for this all-important information. The packets contain everything needed to nominate the student(s) of your choice. A 500-word essay written by the nominated student that describes why he or she deserves the award must be included with the nomination application when it is sent back to PDRA.
It’s no secret, paying for college these days has become harder and harder as tuition costs skyrocket. Textbooks are going for a small fortune, and room and board fees have gone through the roof. Parents of high school age children are hitting the panic button as they scramble to find ways to pay for college. Finding help may just be as easy as taking a trip to the local paint store – if the store is a PDRA retail member in good standing!
Applications are being accepted through March 7, 2014, so be sure to get your application in on time in order to be eligible.
