According to Axiom’s 2022 Outdoor Home Improvement Market Insights survey, 60 percent of respondents say they are now ready to focus more on outdoor projects because they completed major interior home improvements or projects during COVID-19 lockdowns. Of those respondents, 48 percent are likely to spend $1,000 to $5,000 on their outdoor home improvement projects in 2022.

50% of Gen X is motivated by wanting something for their home or yard.

42.6% of millennials are motivated by want to increase home value.

40.6%  of baby boomers are motivated by routine maintenance.

Outdoor Obstacles
Although nearly 50% of respondents are planning to pay cash for projects, nearly 60% say overall cost has been the leading setback on their projects. With rising costs impacting projects, be sure your customers know where you stand on pricing. Spread the word on your social channels about your competitive pricing, and explain that when they shop at your store, the money stays local.
