Combining history and art, the new gallery wall and paintbrush sculpture at the Florida Paints headquarters bring a splash of color into the space and share the company’s rich history.
The company’s paint manufacturing facility, located in Winter Garden, Florida, used to be one of the nation’s largest citrus packing plants. The gallery wall pays homage to that history and the culture of the state, with a design that mimics a vintage postcard and showcases images of the state’s natural beauty. It features the Florida Paints logo, company photos and newspaper clippings and a mural decorated with Florida mainstays, including its famous oranges, palm trees and wildlife.
A sculpture made of paintbrushes adorns the wall opposite the gallery wall, and both pieces fill the once empty spaces with color and interest. A local high-end home and commercial design firm created and installed the gallery wall and sculpture.
“The new installations brighten peoples’ days when they walk into our offices,” says marketing coordinator Lindsey Bynum. “They also allow us to share our history and why we are so passionate about paint.”
To further pay homage to the company’s history, a picture of one of the co-founders, Rick Strube, is hidden in the mural. “We took the idea from Disney’s ‘Hidden Mickeys’ concept and turned it into our own ‘Hidden Ricky’ challenge as a fun twist,” Bynum says.
