Since 1992, Tri-City Paint & Design has been serving clients in Port Coquitlam, British Columbia, with a wide array of paint, sundries and wallcoverings. The store strives to be more than just a paint store, and through the years has developed into a one-stop shop for interior design needs, including offering custom furniture and reupholstery services.
“We’ve always had the in-home consultation aspect of the business, which is a natural fit for the paint store,” says Thoma Doehring, owner and design professional. “About 14 years ago, we found we needed to diversify even more and decided to add the custom furniture services. We’ve had window coverings for almost 30 years, so it was a natural progression to get into the other home decor items like custom furniture.”
The store uses local suppliers whenever possible and works with two local furniture manufacturers for the custom pieces. The reupholstery company is also a local company.
“It’s important to support other local businesses and have that mutually beneficial relationship,” Doehring says.
