For the past 10 years, Forbes has ranked America’s best employers, tracking companies and organizations both small and large. The rankings are based primarily on survey responses from more than 217,000 employees working at these companies.

Ace Hardware achieved the highest rank for home improvement retail organizations in the retail and wholesale category, as it was ranked 338th on the list of over 700 organizations.

Other home improvement retail companies named on the list include Sherwin-Williams, ranked at 444th; Harbor Freight Tools, which was ranked 452nd; and Tractor Supply, ranked 507th.

The list was created by surveying respondents, who were asked if they would recommend their employer to others and to rate it based on a range of criteria, including salary, work environment, training programs and opportunities to advance.
