Stains
Cabot’s Heat-Reducing Solid Color Stain + Sealer with Cool Feel Technology is a durable, UV-resistant exterior stain that reduces surface temperature by 20 degrees Fahrenheit. The stain is available in three colors, includes waterproofing and fade-resistant technology and washes easily.
Benjamin Moore’s Woodluxe Exterior Stain formula minimizes film buildup, allowing for easier relocation and minimal cracking and peeling when staining a deck. The stain is available in a wide variety of semi-transparent, semi-solid, solid and ultra flat solid colors, is UV resistant and mildew resistant.
Applicators
The Wood Stain Brush from Cabot is a 4-inch blended bristle block brush designed to hold more paint and to be used with water and oil-based stains and sealers. The brush has a threaded handle for attaching to an extension pole and is ideal for staining decks, fences, siding and shingles.
The Exterior Stain Pad from Behr is a tear-resistant 7-inch pad with pointed edges for staining hard-to-reach spaces between deck boards. The pad is made of flocked fiber to provide a smooth finish and minimize stain splatter during application.
Prep
The Exterior Wood Stain Stripper from Defy is a biodegradable, easy-to-use deck stain remover that removes weathered, clear and semi-transparent wood stains. The product covers 100 to 150 square feet per gallon and cleans up easily with soap and water.
